| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the Hill-Bert's Burgers in Austin and the family of | ||
| Hilbert R. Maldonado on the occasion of the restaurant's 50th | ||
| anniversary; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This treasured family-owned business was founded | ||
| in 1973 by enterprising University of Texas student Hilbert R. | ||
| Maldonado, who set out to create the best burger in the capital | ||
| city; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Hilbert and his wife, Lucille, pursued their | ||
| dream of establishing Hill-Bert's Burgers, and their phenomenal | ||
| family burger and milkshake recipes became favorites of Austin | ||
| locals and visitors alike; and | ||
| WHEREAS, For 50 years, the Austin community has been | ||
| overwhelmingly appreciative of Hill-Bert's fresh and juicy | ||
| burgers, hand-breaded chicken-fried steak sandwiches, homemade | ||
| onion rings, and famous milkshakes; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This beloved business and its owners and staff are | ||
| indeed deserving of special recognition for catering to the hearts | ||
| and palates of Texans throughout the years and for continuing their | ||
| family's proud tradition of providing exceptional service and | ||
| delicious fare to their customers; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
| Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend the Maldonado | ||
| family and the staff of Hill-Bert's Burgers on their contributions | ||
| to the Austin community and extend to all congratulations on the | ||
| restaurant's 50th anniversary and best wishes for the future and | ||
| for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a | ||
| memento of this special occasion. | ||
