WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize the Texas Council on Family Violence for its | ||
outstanding efforts to support and defend those Texas citizens | ||
affected by domestic violence; and | ||
WHEREAS, One of the largest domestic violence coalitions | ||
in the nation, the Texas Council on Family Violence promotes safe | ||
and healthy relationships by supporting service providers, | ||
facilitating strategic prevention efforts, and creating | ||
opportunities for freedom from domestic violence; and | ||
WHEREAS, The Texas Council on Family Violence focuses on | ||
meeting the needs of those affected by domestic violence; the | ||
organization educates and trains its service providers and many | ||
partners, serves as a unified voice before the Texas Legislature | ||
on behalf of victims, and supports the prevention efforts of | ||
programs across the state; and | ||
WHEREAS, For over three decades the Texas Council on Family | ||
Violence has been a nationally recognized leader in the effort to | ||
end family violence, and its members are truly deserving of | ||
recognition for their many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Council on Family Violence | ||
for its admirable service on behalf of the victims of domestic | ||
violence and extend best wishes for ongoing success in its future | ||
efforts; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an | ||
expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
