SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 221
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the San Antonio chapter of the National Association of
  Women in Construction on the occasion of Women in Construction
  Week, which is being observed March 6 through 12, 2011; and
 
         WHEREAS, Throughout the week, various events will take
  place across the country to increase awareness of women in the
  construction industry and to benefit their communities; and
 
         WHEREAS, The San Antonio chapter of the National
  Association of Women in Construction has grown from 36 members in
  2008 to more than 100 members in 2010 and has become the largest
  chapter in the nation; and
 
         WHEREAS, Women who work in construction show by example the
  many career options available for women; they know that their
  choice of specialty inspires others to reach their own goals and
  that such success instills confidence, develops leadership, and
  enriches the profession; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to women who work in the
  construction industry and declare the week of March 6 through
  March 12, 2011, as Women in Construction Week in Texas; and, be it
  further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the San Antonio chapter of the National Association of Women in
  Construction as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
