SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 128
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Charles Silmon, who recently won the 100-meter dash at
  the National Collegiate Athletic Association Outdoor Track and
  Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon; and
 
         WHEREAS,
 
 
 
 
         WHEREAS, This exceptional student-athlete won the race
  with a time of 9.89 and became the first Horned Frog to win the
  event since 1989; he went on to also compete in the finals of the
  200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay; and
 
         WHEREAS, Texas Christian University, the people of Fort
  Worth, and Texans across the state are proud of Charles for his
  hard work and his impressive skills; he is truly deserving of
  recognition for his exemplary collegiate athletic career; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Charles Silmon
  on his outstanding accomplishments and extend congratulations to
  him on winning the National Collegiate Athletic Association
  championship in the 100-meter dash; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
