SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Harmony School of Innovation in El Paso, which has
  provided a group of its students the opportunity to participate
  in the Senate's Page for a Day Program; and
         WHEREAS, Rated by the Texas Education Agency as Recognized
  in its first year of existence, Harmony School of Innovation is a
  member of the Harmony School System, high-performing public
  charter schools that focus on mathematics, science, engineering,
  and computer technologies to provide opportunities for
  underserved communities; and
         WHEREAS, Students from this prestigious school have won
  numerous awards at the Southwest First Lego League Robotics
  Championship in El Paso and have recorded strong showings at the
  Regional Science Olympiad; its MathCounts team has also enjoyed
  great success; and
         WHEREAS, The Page for a Day Program offers a chance for
  students between the ages of six and 18 to experience the Texas
  Legislature firsthand; they are able to see their government at
  work and to personally observe the ins and outs of the lawmaking
  process; and
         WHEREAS, Taking part in the Page for a Day Program from
  this prestigious school were Allanah Manzanares, Zayra Fragoso,
  Orion Wood, Maria Orozco, and Nathan Medrano; these exemplary
  young students performed their duties as pages with energy and
  skill, and their interest in civic engagement and the legislative
  process points to a bright future for our state; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the Harmony School of Innovation in
  El Paso on its commitment to excellence and extend to its
  students, faculty, and staff best wishes for continued success;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
