BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. The heading to Section 504.408, Transportation | ||
Code, is amended to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 504.408. GOLD STAR MOTHER, FATHER, SPOUSE, OR FAMILY | ||
MEMBER. | ||
SECTION 2. Subsection (a), Section 504.408, Transportation | ||
Code, is amended to read as follows: | ||
(a) The department shall issue a specialty license plate for | ||
the mother, father, or surviving spouse[ |
||
member of a person who died while serving in the United States armed | ||
forces. License plates issued under this section must include the | ||
words "Gold Star Mother," "Gold Star Father," "Gold Star Spouse," | ||
or "Gold Star Family" and a gold star. A person may not be issued | ||
more than one set of the license plates at a time. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
