| relating to the term of interlocal contracts. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 791.011, Government Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (i) to read as follows: | ||
| (i) Notwithstanding Subsections (d) and (f), an interlocal | ||
| contract between municipalities or counties may have a specified | ||
| term of years. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the date on which the | ||
| constitutional amendment proposed by the 82nd Legislature, Regular | ||
| Session, 2011, to authorize the legislature to allow cities or | ||
| counties to enter into interlocal contracts with other cities or | ||
| counties without the imposition of a tax or the provision of a | ||
| sinking fund is approved by the voters. If that amendment is not | ||
| approved by the voters, this Act has no effect. | ||
