relating to the operation of the juvenile boards of Crosby and | ||
Lubbock Counties. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 152.0601, Human Resources Code, is | ||
amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: | ||
(g) The juvenile board of Crosby County and the juvenile | ||
boards of one or more counties that are adjacent to or in close | ||
proximity to Crosby County may agree to operate together with | ||
respect to all matters, or with respect to certain matters | ||
specified by the juvenile boards. Juvenile boards operating | ||
together may appoint one fiscal officer to receive and disburse | ||
funds for the boards. | ||
SECTION 2. Section 152.1581, Human Resources Code, is | ||
amended by adding Subsection (i) to read as follows: | ||
(i) The juvenile board of Lubbock County and the juvenile | ||
boards of one or more counties that are adjacent to or in close | ||
proximity to Lubbock County may agree to operate together with | ||
respect to all matters, or with respect to certain matters | ||
specified by the juvenile boards. Juvenile boards operating | ||
together may appoint one fiscal officer to receive and disburse | ||
funds for the boards. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
