| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 152.0601, Human Resources Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: | ||
| (g) The juvenile board of Crosby County and the juvenile | ||
| boards of one or more counties that are adjacent to or in close | ||
| proximity to Crosby County may agree to operate together with | ||
| respect to all matters, or with respect to certain matters | ||
| specified by the juvenile boards. Juvenile boards operating | ||
| together may appoint one fiscal officer to receive and disburse | ||
| funds for the boards. | ||
| SECTION 2. Section 152.1581, Human Resources Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Subsection (i) to read as follows: | ||
| (i) The juvenile board of Lubbock County and the juvenile | ||
| boards of one or more counties that are adjacent to or in close | ||
| proximity to Lubbock County may agree to operate together with | ||
| respect to all matters, or with respect to certain matters | ||
| specified by the juvenile boards. Juvenile boards operating | ||
| together may appoint one fiscal officer to receive and disburse | ||
| funds for the boards. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | ||
