A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the provision of information relating to certain
  election officials appointed by the commissioners court.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 32.012, Election Code, is amended to
  read as follows:
         Sec. 32.012.  PROVISION OF INFORMATION RELATING TO ELECTION
  OFFICIALS [JUDGES] APPOINTED BY COMMISSIONERS COURT.  (a)  After
  the commissioners court appoints a presiding election judge and an
  alternate presiding judge, the county clerk shall provide to the
  county chair of each political party a list of the individuals
  appointed by the commissioners court to serve as presiding election
  judge and alternate presiding judge.
         (b)  On the written request of a county chair of a political
  party holding a primary election in the county, the county clerk
  shall provide to the county chair a list of:
               (1)  election officers appointed under Section 85.009;
               (2)  judges appointed under Section 32.002; and
               (3)  for each individual listed under Subdivision (1)
  or (2):
                     (A)  the political party that submitted the list
  from which the individual was appointed; and
                     (B)  the polling location to which the individual
  is assigned.
         (c)  The county clerk shall provide a list provided to a
  county chair under Subsection (b):
               (1)  not later than the fifth business day after the
  date the county chair makes the request; or
               (2)  if the request is made after the 14th day before
  the election, not later than the third business day after the date
  the county chair makes the request.
         (d)  A [The appointment] list under this section must be
  provided in writing.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
