relating to requiring rifle resistant windshields for certain | ||
Department of Public Safety automobiles. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 411.014, Government Code, is amended to | ||
read as follows: | ||
Sec. 411.014 BUILDINGS AND EQUIPMENT. (a) The state shall | ||
provide the necessary buildings, offices, and quarters for the | ||
department and its officers, and employees in Austin and other | ||
places in the state where district headquarters are located. The | ||
state shall provide furniture, fixtures, automobiles, motorcycles, | ||
horses, firearms, ammunition, uniforms, appliances, and other | ||
materials necessary to the proper functioning and operation of the | ||
department. | ||
(1) Texas Highway Patrol has the meaning assigned by | ||
Sec. 411.031 of the Government Code | ||
(2) all patrol vehicles shall be equipped with rifle | ||
resistant windshields. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
