A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to eligibility for the subsidized child-care program
  administered by the Texas Workforce Commission.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 302, Labor Code, is
  amended by adding Section 302.00437 to read as follows:
         Sec. 302.00437.  SUBSIDIZED CHILD-CARE PROGRAM:
  ELIGIBILITY. (a) A child is eligible for subsidized child care if
  the child is eligible for enrollment in a prekindergarten class in a
  public school under Section 29.153, Education Code.
         (b)  The commission may adopt rules necessary to administer
  this section.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
