BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 157.0511, Occupations Code, is amended | ||
by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | ||
(d) A physician may not supervise or delegate the | ||
prescribing or ordering of a drug or device under this subchapter to | ||
a physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse who | ||
practices in a medical specialty outside the scope of the | ||
physician's residency training or primary medical practice, unless | ||
the physician has not less than five years of previous practice | ||
experience in that specialty. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
