BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 775.031, Health and Safety Code, is | ||
amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | ||
(b-1) A district that was formerly a rural fire prevention | ||
district that is not otherwise prohibited by statute from providing | ||
fire prevention or fire-fighting services may provide those | ||
services. | ||
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act is a | ||
clarification of existing law and does not imply that existing law | ||
may be construed as inconsistent with the law as amended by this | ||
Act. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | ||
