BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter P, Chapter 201, Transportation Code, | ||
is amended by adding Section 201.9915 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 201.9915. FUNDING CATEGORY RELATED TO PORTS OF ENTRY. | ||
(a) In this section: | ||
(1) "Project related to a port of entry" has the | ||
meaning assigned by Section 201.710. | ||
(2) "Master plan" means the Texas-Mexico Border | ||
Transportation Master Plan developed by the department in | ||
collaboration with the border trade advisory committee and relevant | ||
federal agencies in the United States and the United Mexican | ||
States. | ||
(b) The commission shall establish a funding category under | ||
Section 201.991(b)(2) for projects related to a port of entry, | ||
including projects recommended in the master plan. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
