R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Women's History Month is held in March to celebrate
  the myriad contributions made by women in every field and facet of
  our society, and this observance provides a fitting opportunity to
  recognize the exemplary service of Ellen Smyth; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Smyth has distinguished herself through her
  dedicated efforts as chief transit and field operations officer for
  the City of El Paso, and the skill and professionalism she has
  demonstrated in this important role have earned her the respect and
  admiration of her fellow Texans; and
         WHEREAS, Through her deep commitment to her duties, Ms. Smyth
  greatly benefits the citizens she serves, and her achievements make
  her a worthy role model for other women in municipal government; and
         WHEREAS, The Lone Star State is fortunate to have passionate
  and engaged leaders like Ellen Smyth, and she may take justifiable
  pride in her contributions and in the inspiring example she has set
  for others; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Ellen Smyth for her service as chief
  transit and field operations officer for the City of El Paso and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her
  endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Smyth as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
