WHEREAS, Dr. Carl Dethloff is retiring as superintendent of | ||
the San Angelo Independent School District in December 2023, | ||
drawing a close an exemplary career in public education that has | ||
spanned nearly three and a half decades; and | ||
WHEREAS, Dr. Dethloff first took the helm of San Angelo ISD | ||
on July 1, 2015, after serving as the assistant superintendent of | ||
human resources and professional development for six years, and | ||
over the course of his tenure, he has worked tirelessly to provide | ||
valuable educational opportunities to area students; under his able | ||
leadership, the district has significantly expanded its dual credit | ||
and career and technical education program offerings; and | ||
WHEREAS, Before coming to San Angelo ISD, Dr. Dethloff served | ||
as the principal of three schools in College Station; long active in | ||
his professional community, he has given generously of his time and | ||
talents to numerous committees and organizations, including the | ||
Texas Association of School Administrators leadership development | ||
committee, the TASA Future-Ready Superintendents Leadership | ||
Network, the Texas School Alliance, and the Texas Public | ||
Accountability Consortium; he holds both a bachelor's and a | ||
master's degree from Austin College as well as a doctoral degree | ||
from Texas A&M University; and | ||
WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Dr. Dethloff will take on | ||
a new role as the deputy executive director of the nonprofit | ||
education organization the Equity Center; in all his endeavors, he | ||
enjoys the love and support of his wife, Judy, and he takes great | ||
pride in their two daughters, Abbey and Caroline; and | ||
WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and | ||
commitment to excellence, Carl Dethloff has helped foster a | ||
supportive and challenging educational environment for countless | ||
young Texans, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his many | ||
contributions as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Dr. Carl | ||
Dethloff on his retirement as superintendent of the San Angelo | ||
Independent School District and extend to him sincere best wishes | ||
for the future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Dr. Dethloff as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. |
