R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Marilyn Hailey of the Lake Highlands area of Dallas
  was named the honorary chair of A Writer's Garden Valentine Tea,
  held on February 10, 2015; and
         WHEREAS, A Writer's Garden is a literary series organized by
  the Women's Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden to
  raise funds for A Woman's Garden, a major feature of the arboretum;
  designer, gardener, and author Michael Devine was the guest speaker
  at this year's event; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Hailey is a former Neiman Marcus model, and her
  hat collection was on display at the gathering; many of the hats
  were designed by her friend, renowned hat designer Frank Olive; the
  Women's Council paid tribute to Ms. Hailey in her role as honorary
  chair with a video showing photographs of her modeling career,
  which began in the early 1960s; and
         WHEREAS, Marilyn Hailey is a valued resident of Lake
  Highlands, and through her personal and professional
  accomplishments, she has earned the respect and admiration of her
  fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Marilyn Hailey on being named the
  honorary chair of A Writer's Garden Valentine Tea 2015 and extend to
  her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Hailey as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
