| WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislative Session, Jacqueline | ||
| Hernandez has ably served her fellow Texans as an intern in the | ||
| office of State Representative Chris Turner; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Hernandez has | ||
| contributed to the workings of state government firsthand; in | ||
| addition to learning more about the legislative process and the | ||
| issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained | ||
| valuable experience in the field of public service; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Hernandez is currently a student at Lamar | ||
| University, where she is pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology | ||
| with a double minor in Spanish and legal studies; a fixture on the | ||
| Dean's List for the past three years, she belongs to the Honors | ||
| Student Association and the Spanish Honor Society, and she was | ||
| recently named a candidate for the Psi Chi Psychology Honor | ||
| Society; she is likewise an accomplished student leader; since | ||
| 2011, she has served as president of the Education Initiative | ||
| Association, a group of students that strives to promote | ||
| appreciation for the importance of higher education within the | ||
| local Hispanic community; she is also a recruiter for the Hispanic | ||
| Student Association; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her | ||
| duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is | ||
| indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Jacqueline | ||
| Hernandez for her service as a legislative intern in the office of | ||
| State Representative Chris Turner and extend to her sincere best | ||
| wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
