R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The death of Helen Heard Tuck of New Boston on
  September 16, 2013, at the age of 83, brought a great loss to her
  family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Omaha, Texas, on December 4, 1929, the
  former Helen Heard married Charles D. Tuck, and they became the
  proud parents of a daughter, Julie, and a son, David; with the
  passing years, their cherished family grew to include a
  daughter-in-law, Robin, and three grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Tuck was a trail blazer for women; she worked
  in management at one of the largest United States Army supply depots
  in the free world at a time when there were few women in management
  positions; she worked with great pride in serving our Nation as a
  computer program designer with the Red River Army Depot until her
  retirement; and
         WHEREAS, Helen Tuck was incredibly active in her community
  throughout her entire life; as a member of Bowie County Republican
  Women she served in several officer positions and attended numerous
  Republican state conventions, including her last one in Fort Worth
  in 2010; she ran for Bowie County Treasurer in 2008, and through all
  her political involvement was one of the pioneers that helped build
  the Bowie County Republican Party into the majority party it is
  today; Mrs. Tuck was also a proud member of the Daughters of the
  American Revolution; and
         WHEREAS, Helen Tuck was
  deeply committed to her Lord and
  Savior Jesus Christ; she was actively involved in church activities
  as a member of the New Boston Church of Christ; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Tuck was supportive of the work of her
  husband's longtime welding business and together they devoted
  themselves to the youth of New Boston regardless of background, and
  through their love for helping others, mentored many young people
  and adults; and
         WHEREAS, Although Helen Tuck is deeply missed, cherished
  memories of time spent in her company will long endure in the hearts
  of her beloved family and numerous friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Helen Heard Tuck and
  extend sincere condolences to her loved ones; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Helen Tuck.
