WHEREAS, The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in | ||
El Paso is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Gayle Greve | ||
Hunt School of Nursing facility on February 3, 2015; and | ||
WHEREAS, Established in 2010, GGHSON was made possible by a | ||
generous donation from the Hunt Family Foundation; the first class | ||
was admitted in 2011, and today, under the able guidance of founding | ||
dean Jeanne Novotny, the institution offers both a traditional | ||
bachelor's degree in nursing as well as an innovative RN to BSN | ||
program; and | ||
WHEREAS, The 90 students currently enrolled at the school | ||
will be the first of many to benefit from the new state-of-the-art | ||
building, which features a 12,000-square-foot simulation lab, four | ||
classrooms, and collaborative learning spaces; and | ||
WHEREAS, GGHSON represents a major investment in the future | ||
of health care in El Paso, and it is truly a welcome addition to the | ||
community; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commemorate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the | ||
new Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing facility at Texas Tech | ||
University Health Sciences Center and extend to all those | ||
associated with the institution sincere best wishes for the future; | ||
and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
