R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in |
|
El Paso is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Gayle Greve |
|
Hunt School of Nursing facility on February 3, 2015; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established in 2010, GGHSON was made possible by a |
|
generous donation from the Hunt Family Foundation; the first class |
|
was admitted in 2011, and today, under the able guidance of founding |
|
dean Jeanne Novotny, the institution offers both a traditional |
|
bachelor's degree in nursing as well as an innovative RN to BSN |
|
program; and |
|
WHEREAS, The 90 students currently enrolled at the school |
|
will be the first of many to benefit from the new state-of-the-art |
|
building, which features a 12,000-square-foot simulation lab, four |
|
classrooms, and collaborative learning spaces; and |
|
WHEREAS, GGHSON represents a major investment in the future |
|
of health care in El Paso, and it is truly a welcome addition to the |
|
community; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the |
|
new Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing facility at Texas Tech |
|
University Health Sciences Center and extend to all those |
|
associated with the institution sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
