R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Church of God in Christ gathered in
  Fort Worth on May 5, 2017, for a banquet celebrating the appointment
  of Jimmy W. Glenn Sr. as auxiliary bishop of the Texas Northeast
  Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Fort Worth, Jimmy Glenn entered the
  ministry four decades ago, when he began preaching and singing
  gospel music at churches across the state and throughout the
  country; since 2000, he has led the congregation of Greater Love
  Chapel Church of God in Christ in Fort Worth; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to fulfilling his myriad pastoral
  duties, this respected minister also serves the Church of God in
  Christ at the national level as the vice president of the Evangelist
  Department and as the national adjutancy overseer; in 2003, he was
  named the first adjutant apostolic to serve Bishop Chandler David
  Owens; he also held the office of chief adjutant to the late Bishop
  James Neaul Haynes, presiding prelate of the Texas Northeast First
  Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, and when Bishop Haynes became a member
  of the General Board, Pastor Glenn served as his national adjutant
  for more than 30 years; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Bishop Glenn has been blessed
  with the love and support of his wife, Sylvia; he is the father of
  three treasured children, Adrescion Glenn, Jimmy W. Glenn Jr., and
  Audreille McGinty, and his life has been further enriched by his
  four grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Bishop Glenn brings a wealth of knowledge to his new
  post, and his experience and dedication will help to advance the
  vital mission of the Church of God in Christ; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jimmy
  W. Glenn Sr. on his selection as auxiliary bishop of the Church of
  God in Christ Texas Northeast Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction
  and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Bishop Glenn as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
