R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, July 29, 2011, marks the 39th wedding anniversary of
  Dell and Charlotte Carter, and this joyous event provides a fitting
  opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together as
  husband and wife; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carter initially met when they shared
  an elevator at Trinity Insurance Company; that encounter led to
  courtship and then, in 1972, to matrimony; the couple settled in
  Dallas, where over the years they raised a family of six children,
  Sean, Starlett, Stevi, Stefani, Staci, and Sharmaine; in more
  recent years, they have been blessed as well with several
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Mrs. Carter graduated from
  St. Mary's University in her hometown and helped guide young Texans
  on their path to successful adulthood as an elementary school
  teacher; Mr. Carter, who hails from Beaumont and who holds a degree
  from Texas A&M University, is an engineer by profession and also an
  entrepreneur; in both their personal and professional lives, the
  Carters have demonstrated hard work, dedication, and respect for
  others; and
         WHEREAS, The 39 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Carter
  have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and
  commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who
  know them; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dell and Charlotte Carter on their
  39th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Carter as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
