R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The untimely death of Officer Larry Dale Candelari
  of the Pasadena Police Department on April 26, 2013, at the age of
  49, has brought a great loss to his family, fellow peace officers,
  and many friends; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Houston on October 15, 1963, Larry Candelari
  was the son of Henry and Roma Candelari; he graduated from North
  Shore High School and subsequently served his country in the United
  States Marine Corps for five years; along the way, he completed jump
  school and special forces combat dive training and was recognized
  with numerous decorations and honors; and
         WHEREAS, Officer Candelari joined the Pasadena Police
  Department in 1990, and he served as a member of the SWAT team for 22
  years; his tenure with the department also included working as a
  patrol officer and as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education instructor;
  and
         WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, he was supported by his wife
  and former high school sweetheart, Julie, with whom he shared 28
  years, and he took pride in a fine family that included two sons,
  Seth Candelari and his wife, Dana, and Alec Candelari, and a
  granddaughter, Tatum; and
         WHEREAS, Held in high regard by the law enforcement
  community, Officer Candelari endeared himself to others with his
  upbeat and energetic personality; he was selflessly coming to the
  aid of motorists at the site of an automobile accident, while off
  duty, when his life was tragically cut short; and
         WHEREAS, Texans everywhere owe an immeasurable debt of
  gratitude to the courageous men and women who dedicate themselves
  to the public welfare, and Officer Larry Candelari exemplified the
  highest standards of his profession; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Larry Candelari and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Julie Candelari; to his sons, Seth Candelari
  and his wife, Dana Garcia Candelari, and Alec Candelari; to his
  granddaughter, Tatum Candelari; to his brothers, Enrico and James
  Candelari; to his half-brother, Buddy Casper; to his half-sister,
  Connie Casper; to his father- and mother-in-law, Allen and Nancy
  Thomas; to his sister-in-law, Natalie Thomas Hoelzer; and to his
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Officer
  Larry Candelari.
