R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Joseph Ralph Beatty
  were deeply saddened by his passing on September 29, 2021, at the
  age of 73; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Ralph and Bonnie Beatty, Joe Beatty was
  born in Greenville, Ohio, on October 18, 1947, and he grew up with
  the companionship of two sisters, Elaine and Janet; he graduated
  from Greenville High School and went on to receive a degree in
  agronomy from Ohio State University; during his junior year, he
  served as an aide to the speaker of the Ohio House of
  Representatives; he subsequently embarked on a career in
  agriculture and was later employed by a number of companies in the
  energy sector, including Standard Oil; he also founded his own
  firm, which co-manufactured products in Russia; and
         WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Beatty taught history
  and science classes at Lone Star College's Academy for Lifelong
  Learning, and he was a member of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent
  School District Community Leadership Committee and the Texas War
  Memorial Board; he was also a valued congregant of Lakewood United
  Methodist Church, where he was involved in a variety of ministries
  and mission projects, including delivering medical supplies to
  Haiti and Belize; moreover, he was a licensed pilot and flew the
  World War II B-25 Devil Dog for the Commemorative Air Force to air
  shows across the country; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Beatty enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, Patty, with whom he shared a rewarding
  union that spanned more than five decades; he took great pride in
  their two children, Jeb and the late Zachary Beatty, and with the
  passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to
  include two grandchildren, Ursula and Clyde; and
         WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Joe Beatty
  leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
  richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured
  place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Joseph Ralph Beatty and extend sincere condolences to all who
  mourn his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joe Beatty.
