R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Amanda Ramirez graduated as valedictorian of the
  2013 senior class at Cotulla High School, and she truly merits
  special recognition for her impressive achievements; and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
  highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction,
  Ms. Ramirez demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range
  of subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted
  to her studies are myriad; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Ramirez has shared her time and talents as a
  member of the National Honor Society and the student council, and
  she has participated in fund-raisers at her school and in her
  community; she plans to attend Texas A&M University--Kingsville and
  to study biomedical sciences; and
         WHEREAS, Amanda Ramirez has earned the respect and admiration
  of her teachers and classmates at Cotulla High, and her exceptional
  scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have
  opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young
  Texan; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Amanda
  Ramirez, valedictorian of the Cotulla High School Class of 2013,
  and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she
  begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Ramirez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
