WHEREAS, U.S. Army Colonel (Ret.) William L. Moseley has | ||
rendered exceptional service to the military community through his | ||
role as director of the St. Philip's College Good Samaritan | ||
Veterans Outreach and Transition Center in San Antonio; and | ||
WHEREAS, The Good Samaritan Veterans Outreach and Transition | ||
Center opened in 2017 with Bill Moseley taking the helm as director; | ||
benefiting active duty military personnel, veterans, and their | ||
families, the facility provides a range of vital resources, | ||
including job training, financial and educational counseling, | ||
health and legal services, and referral services, all at no cost; | ||
since its inception, the center has served more than 44,000 | ||
individuals in the greater San Antonio area; and | ||
WHEREAS, Among the center's other achievements, it has | ||
engaged with some 25,000 military personnel at over 900 veteran | ||
community events; it has also conducted more than 1,000 workshops | ||
and related initiatives as well as 5 state veterans fairs; in | ||
addition, the facility has expanded its classroom seating capacity | ||
and has upgraded classrooms and conference rooms with equipment | ||
necessary for hybrid workshops and other events; and | ||
WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Colonel Moseley worked as a | ||
firefighter before entering the U.S. Army; he was commissioned as a | ||
second lieutenant and went on to become a logistics officer, | ||
distinguishing himself in the roles of company, battalion, and | ||
brigade commander; prior to his retirement in 2013, he spent 25 | ||
years in critical and key assignments around the world; and | ||
WHEREAS, Through his exemplary efforts, Bill Moseley is | ||
helping to ensure that those who have courageously served our | ||
nation are afforded the support and assistance they need, and it is | ||
indeed a privilege to honor him for his myriad contributions; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commend Colonel (Ret.) William L. Moseley for | ||
his adept leadership as director of the St. Philip's College Good | ||
Samaritan Veterans Outreach and Transition Center and extend to him | ||
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Colonel Moseley as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. |
