WHEREAS, The members of the Buna High School Lady Cougar | ||
powerlifting team turned in an outstanding performance at the Texas | ||
High School Women's Powerlifting Association 3A State Meet on March | ||
21, 2015, in Corpus Christi; and | ||
WHEREAS, Kendra Fisher claimed third place in the 114-pound | ||
weight class by tallying a total of 705 pounds in the three lift | ||
categories of squat, bench press, and dead lift; Brianna Morelion | ||
competed in the same division, finishing 13th; and | ||
WHEREAS, Also representing Buna High were Shelbea Permenter, | ||
who took 11th in the 123-pound class, Rielly Long Causey, who | ||
claimed 14th in the 220-pound division, Jaysa Crochet, who finished | ||
15th among the 97-pound lifters, and Bobby Denard, who took 18th in | ||
the 220-plus class; and | ||
WHEREAS, Guided by head coach Kara Garner, these dedicated | ||
student-athletes demonstrated admirable determination and an | ||
enduring commitment to excellence, and they may take justifiable | ||
pride in their achievements; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate the Buna High School Lady Cougar | ||
powerlifting team on their performance at the Texas High School | ||
Women's Powerlifting Association 3A State Meet and extend to them | ||
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
