WHEREAS, Missouri City has greatly benefited from the | ||
dedicated leadership of the Honorable Allen Owen, who was elected | ||
mayor in 1994; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mayor Owen has also served as a planning and zoning | ||
commissioner, a council member, and mayor pro tempore; with his | ||
wife of 41 years, Jane, he has lived in the city for more than three | ||
decades and raised three children; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mayor Owen, who works as a market area district | ||
manager with Wells Fargo, is actively involved with the Fort Bend | ||
County Women's Center, literacy council, chamber of commerce, and | ||
county fair association; a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State | ||
University and Southern Methodist University, he is the chair of | ||
the business advisory council of Asian American Family Services, a | ||
lifetime vice president and director of the Houston Livestock Show | ||
and Rodeo, and the vice chair of the Fort Bend Community Justice | ||
Council; and | ||
WHEREAS, Each day public servants improve the quality of life | ||
for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts of | ||
Allen Owen are helping to make Missouri City an even better place in | ||
which to live and work; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby honor Mayor Allen Owen for his committed public | ||
service and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued | ||
success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mayor Owen as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
