R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Missouri City has greatly benefited from the
  dedicated leadership of the Honorable Allen Owen, who was elected
  mayor in 1994; and
         WHEREAS, Mayor Owen has also served as a planning and zoning
  commissioner, a council member, and mayor pro tempore; with his
  wife of 41 years, Jane, he has lived in the city for more than three
  decades and raised three children; and
         WHEREAS, Mayor Owen, who works as a market area district
  manager with Wells Fargo, is actively involved with the Fort Bend
  County Women's Center, literacy council, chamber of commerce, and
  county fair association; a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State
  University and Southern Methodist University, he is the chair of
  the business advisory council of Asian American Family Services, a
  lifetime vice president and director of the Houston Livestock Show
  and Rodeo, and the vice chair of the Fort Bend Community Justice
  Council; and
         WHEREAS, Each day public servants improve the quality of life
  for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts of
  Allen Owen are helping to make Missouri City an even better place in
  which to live and work; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Mayor Allen Owen for his committed public
  service and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mayor Owen as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
