| WHEREAS, Anshawnique Morrisey of Silsbee High School has | ||
| qualified to take part in the 3A discus competition at the 2013 | ||
| University Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A senior, Ms. Morrisey earned the trip to state with | ||
| a first-place discus throw of 120 feet, 1 inch, at the 3A Region III | ||
| meet held at Turner Stadium in Humble on April 27; this marks the | ||
| second consecutive year she has advanced to the state | ||
| championships, and she will seek to improve on her impressive | ||
| sixth-place showing in 2012; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Competing for a state title is the goal of every high | ||
| school athlete, and Anshawnique Morrisey may take justifiable pride | ||
| in her outstanding accomplishment; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Anshawnique Morrisey on qualifying | ||
| for the UIL Track & Field State Meet in the discus and extend to her | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Morrisey as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
