R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Christopher Madrid was selected to participate in
  the 2011 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program, and during
  the 82nd Legislative Session, he has ably served his fellow Texans
  as an aide in the office of State Representative Sergio Munoz, Jr.;
  and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative
  Leadership Foundation, the program offers outstanding university
  students and recent graduates an opportunity to serve as full-time
  policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican American
  Legislative Caucus and gain experience working with the Texas
  Legislature; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Leticia and Anthony Madrid, Christopher
  Madrid was employed as a land surveyor and volunteered with his
  local fire department while attending high school; he then earned a
  bachelor's degree in political science, with a minor in criminal
  justice, from Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Madrid worked his way through college and also
  played an active role in several election campaigns, competed on
  the school sailing team, and served as a collegiate political party
  president and as a guardian ad litem for six children; an avid
  reader and long-distance runner, he plans to enroll in graduate
  school in the fall; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure at the State Capitol,
  Mr. Madrid has been of great assistance to Representative Munoz's
  office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing citizens of the
  Lone Star State; he has performed his duties as a legislative aide
  with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and he may indeed look
  forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Christopher Madrid as a participant in the
  2011 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend him
  for his notable contributions to the legislative process; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Madrid as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
