  H.R. No. 2013

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, April 27, 2017, was indeed a special day in the lives
of Aaron and Randi Pate, for on that day they became the proud
parents of a baby girl, Quinn Elise Pate; and
WHEREAS, This charming bundle of joy made her long-awaited
debut in Antioch, California, at approximately 4:45 p.m.; the
second child of Mr. and Mrs. Pate, Quinn has brought great happiness
not only to her parents but also to her older brother, Asher, and
her grandparents, Brazoria County judges Marc and Terri Holder and
Pastor Kent Pate and Belinda Pate; and
WHEREAS, Although technically born on the West Coast, Quinn
has strong ties to the Lone Star State; her parents hail from
Angleton, and they are both graduates of Texas A&M University; the
family would have remained in Texas if not for Mr. Pate's position
at Chevron, which required relocation to the San Francisco Bay
Area; ensuring Quinn's connection to her ancestral state, her
grandfather Marc Holder brought Texas soil to Antioch to be placed
under the bed in which she was born; and
WHEREAS, Quinn Pate has won the hearts of all who know her,
and her Lone Star heritage will surely serve her well in the years
  ahead; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Aaron and Randi Pate on the birth
of their daughter, Quinn Elise Pate, and recognize Quinn as an
honorary Texan, with all the rights and privileges accorded those
individuals native to the Lone Star State; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the family as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
