WHEREAS, Benjamin Reid Jowers has ably served his fellow | ||
Texans as assistant committee director for the House Homeland | ||
Security and Public Safety Committee during the 87th Legislative | ||
Session; and | ||
WHEREAS, Reid Jowers has provided vital assistance to the | ||
committee's chair, State Representative James White, and its other | ||
members as they have dealt with issues related to law enforcement, | ||
crime prevention, security services, and homeland security; and | ||
WHEREAS, Hailing from Beaumont, Mr. Jowers earned a | ||
bachelor's degree in journalism from The University of Texas at | ||
Austin as well as a certificate in security studies from the | ||
Clements Center for National Security; he is currently pursuing a | ||
master's degree in global policy studies at UT's Lyndon B. Johnson | ||
School of Public Affairs; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Jowers has completed internships with the | ||
Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training, the Jefferson | ||
County Sheriff's Office, and the Austin Chronicle, and he has | ||
served as a reporter with Reporting Texas and as a clerk with the | ||
Bernsen Law Firm; and | ||
WHEREAS, Through his skill, professionalism, and commitment | ||
to excellence, Reid Jowers has made significant contributions to | ||
the Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee, and he is indeed | ||
deserving of recognition for his outstanding record of achievement; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commend Benjamin Reid Jowers for his service as | ||
assistant committee director for the House Homeland Security and | ||
Public Safety Committee in the office of State Representative James | ||
White and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in | ||
all his endeavors; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Jowers as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. |
