R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The boys' swim team of Tuloso-Midway High School in
  Corpus Christi achieved great distinction at the 2023 University
  Interscholastic League Swimming & Diving State Meet, held
  February 9 and 10 in San Antonio; and
         WHEREAS, Delivering an exceptional performance,
  Tuloso-Midway finished second overall in the 4A team competition
  and was especially strong in the individual events; Matteo
  Nisimblat claimed gold in the 100-yard freestyle race, and Tomas
  Betancour won the 100-yard butterfly, holding off silver medalist
  and teammate Gavin Gallimore; Alex Craig was second in the 200-yard
  freestyle, and Mr. Betancour and Mr. Nisimblat clinched respective
  bronze medals in the 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual
  medley; and
         WHEREAS, The Warriors also excelled in the relays, with the
  quartet of Mr. Gallimore, Mr. Craig, Mr. Betancour, and
  Mr. Nisimblat bringing home gold in the 200-yard freestyle event,
  and Mr. Gallimore, Riley Williams, Mr. Betancour, and
  Mr. Nisimblat garnering second place in the 200-yard medley relay;
  moreover, Zeke Adams, Gavin Lopez, Mr. Williams, and Mr. Craig
  placed fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay; and
         WHEREAS, Tuloso-Midway was also represented at state by
  Anthony Rios in 1-meter diving, Andrew Benavides in the 200-yard
  individual medley, and Ryan Rosenbaum in the 500-yard freestyle;
  and
         WHEREAS, Throughout the season, the talented members of the
  Tuloso-Midway roster benefited from the able guidance of head coach
  Anna Alaniz and assistant coaches Criselda Saenz and Izzy Soza; and
         WHEREAS, The Tuloso-Midway Warriors have excelled through
  skill, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to performing at the
  highest level, and they are a source of tremendous pride to their
  classmates and to their many supporters in the local community;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Tuloso-Midway High School
  boys' swim team on placing second in the 4A team competition at the
  2023 UIL Swimming & Diving State Meet and extend to the athletes,
  coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for continued success; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
