WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and | ||
meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends | ||
of Paul Hugo Weyrauch of Horseshoe Bay, who passed away on July 19, | ||
2013, at the age of 87; and | ||
WHEREAS, Born on October 14, 1925, in Sterling, Illinois, | ||
Paul Weyrauch graduated from Sterling High School and subsequently | ||
served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy, including duty | ||
aboard the USS Bremerton; he went on to earn a bachelor's degree at | ||
the University of Notre Dame and a master of business | ||
administration degree at the University of Michigan; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Weyrauch began his career in Pittsburg at | ||
People's First National Bank before joining the treasury department | ||
of Gulf Oil Corporation; he served as assistant treasurer in the | ||
Houston office for many years and then returned to Pittsburg, where | ||
he was promoted to treasurer; he retired in the early 1980s after | ||
three decades with the company; and | ||
WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Weyrauch shared a | ||
rewarding marriage with his wife, Marion, who was his childhood | ||
sweetheart before they wed in 1948; together, they were blessed | ||
with three daughters, Beth, Susan, and Nancy, and they delighted in | ||
welcoming four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren into | ||
their lives; and | ||
WHEREAS, In retirement, the Weyrauches made their home in the | ||
Blue Lake community on Lake LBJ and then settled in Horseshoe Bay; | ||
Mr. Weyrauch gave back to his fellow citizens as a member of the | ||
Llano school board and The University of Texas Business School | ||
Advisory Council, and he was appointed by Governor Bill Clements to | ||
the State Pension Review Board; moreover, he enjoyed teaching | ||
part-time at the Texas State University business school; he and his | ||
wife were charter members of The Church at Horseshoe Bay, and he | ||
further contributed to the congregation as a trustee; and | ||
WHEREAS, Paul Weyrauch made a positive difference in the | ||
lives of countless people with his warmth, laughter, and humility, | ||
and he will long be remembered with great admiration and affection | ||
by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory | ||
of Paul Hugo Weyrauch and extend sincere condolences to the members | ||
of his family: to his wife of 65 years, Marion Palmer Weyrauch; to | ||
his daughters, Beth Butler and her husband, David, Susan Williams | ||
and her husband, Mike, and Nancy Mehlert and her husband, Peter; to | ||
his grandchildren, Sarah Sargent and her husband, Jim, Staff | ||
Sergeant Paul Butler and his wife, Landry, Spencer Williams and his | ||
wife, Amy, and Elizabeth Cole and her husband, Jake; to his | ||
great-grandchildren, James and Will Sargent and June Williams; and | ||
to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Paul Hugo | ||
Weyrauch. | ||
