WHEREAS, Fred Alonzo Rangel of San Antonio, an esteemed civic | ||
leader and friend to many, passed away on October 2, 2021, at the | ||
age of 66; and | ||
WHEREAS, Freddie Rangel was born in Corpus Christi on | ||
October 21, 1954, to the Reverend Frank Rangel Sr. and Sylvia | ||
Rangel, and he grew up with the companionship of five brothers, | ||
Rudolfo, Frank, Robert, Gilbert, and Richard; after graduating from | ||
Memorial High School in San Antonio, he earned a bachelor's degree | ||
in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978; he | ||
later received a diploma in biblical studies from the Latin | ||
American Bible Institute in San Antonio; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Rangel founded ADCO Master Builders in 1991, and | ||
he served for many years as president and chief executive officer; | ||
over the course of his tenure, he played an instrumental role in | ||
building commercial and residential structures in the San Antonio | ||
area; passionate about politics, he served as president of the | ||
Republican Party of Bexar County, as a precinct chair, and as a | ||
member of the State Republican Executive Committee; and | ||
WHEREAS, A man of deep faith throughout his life, Mr. Rangel | ||
served as youth minister at La Trinidad Assembly of God Church and | ||
as associate minister at East Central Assembly of God Church; most | ||
recently, he was an active member of Westover Hills Church, where he | ||
volunteered countless hours with several ministries; and | ||
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Rangel benefited from the | ||
love and support of his wife, Debbie, and he took great pride in | ||
their daughter, Amy; over the years, he had the pleasure of seeing | ||
his family grow to include two grandchildren, Luna and Joaquin; in | ||
his leisure time, he enjoyed playing golf, playing the guitar, and | ||
going dancing with his wife; and | ||
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family and his community, | ||
Freddie Rangel made a meaningful difference in the lives of his | ||
loved ones and fellow citizens alike, and his contributions will be | ||
fondly remembered for years to come; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory | ||
of Fred Alonzo Rangel and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn | ||
his passing; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Freddie | ||
Rangel. | ||
