R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, William Randall Trawnik of Dallas has distinguished
  himself in his work as an ocularist, serving patients from
  throughout the State of Texas and more than 40 countries around the
  world, including collegiate athletes, best-selling authors, and
  children; and
         WHEREAS, Randy Trawnik came to the ocularist profession
  following the loss of his own eye in an ROTC accident at the age of
  17; after graduating from The University of Texas at Arlington, he
  trained under the supervision of John H. O'Donnell, one of the early
  pioneers of the ocularist profession; he received his master of
  ophthalmic prosthetics degree from the American Society of
  Ocularists (ASO) in 1978 and his fellowship in 1984; and
         WHEREAS, A leader in the ASO, Mr. Trawnik has served as a
  faculty lecturer and education committee co-chair and has held the
  offices of vice president and president; he has also been a lecturer
  for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and he currently serves
  as an associate clinical instructor for the Department of
  Ophthalmology at the UT Southwestern Medical School; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Trawnik has been nationally and internationally
  acclaimed for his work in the field of ophthalmic prosthetics,
  including his efforts in prosthetic management of congenital
  anophthalmos and microphthalmos; and
         WHEREAS, Known for his wit and the compassionate care he
  offers to individuals struggling with uncertain circumstances,
  Mr. Trawnik has provided his patients with a quality of life that
  might not have otherwise been possible; and
         WHEREAS, Randy Trawnik's work has made a profound difference
  in many lives, and his expertise and steadfast dedication to those
  he serves have earned him the deep admiration and appreciation of
  his patients and colleagues; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor William Randall
  "Randy" Trawnik for his service and contributions and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success in his vital endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Trawnik as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
