R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Crossroads Church in Rowlett held its most recent
  Serve Day on February 19, 2017, and this occasion provides a welcome
  opportunity to recognize the church for its contributions to the
  community; and
         WHEREAS, Several times each year, Crossroads Church
  congregants gather to undertake a variety of projects for the
  benefit of other local organizations and nonprofits and the people
  they serve; on February 19, approximately 300 church members
  organized themselves into teams to work at a senior care center and
  at three facilities associated with a shelter for victims of
  domestic violence; teams completed painting, repairing,
  organizing, and deep-cleaning tasks at the shelter's outreach
  office, emergency shelter, and food pantry and made art and played
  games with residents at the senior care center; other Serve Day
  ventures have included a variety of building and maintenance work;
  and
         WHEREAS, By giving so generously of their time and efforts,
  the members of Crossroads Church of Rowlett have made a positive and
  lasting impact in their community, and it is indeed fitting that
  they be honored for their service; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Crossroads Church for its generous
  assistance to Rowlett-area organizations and nonprofits and extend
  to its members sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
