a life insurance policy. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Chapter 1103, Insurance Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subchapter E to read as follows: | ||
SUBCHAPTER E. DISCLOSURE OF BENEFICIARY | ||
Sec. 1103.201. APPLICABILITY OF SUBCHAPTER. This | ||
subchapter applies to a life insurance company that: | ||
(1) issues or delivers a life insurance policy in this | ||
state; or | ||
(2) is organized under the laws of this state. | ||
Sec. 1103.202. FUNERAL DIRECTORS. If a funeral director | ||
licensed under Chapter 651, Occupations Code, is directing an | ||
insured's funeral, a life insurance company shall disclose the | ||
beneficiary of the insured's life insurance policy to the director | ||
on the director's request. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
