A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to disclosure of a beneficiary to a funeral director under
  a life insurance policy.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Chapter 1103, Insurance Code, is amended by
  adding Subchapter E to read as follows:
  SUBCHAPTER E. DISCLOSURE OF BENEFICIARY
         Sec. 1103.201.  APPLICABILITY OF SUBCHAPTER. This
  subchapter applies to a life insurance company that:
               (1)  issues or delivers a life insurance policy in this
  state; or
               (2)  is organized under the laws of this state.
         Sec. 1103.202.  FUNERAL DIRECTORS. If a funeral director
  licensed under Chapter 651, Occupations Code, is directing an
  insured's funeral, a life insurance company shall disclose the
  beneficiary of the insured's life insurance policy to the director
  on the director's request.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
