A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the designation of a portion of State Highway 164 in
  Limestone County as the State Trooper Chad M. Walker Memorial
  Highway.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 225.190, Transportation Code, as added
  by Chapter 927 (H.B. 3512), Acts of the 87th Legislature, Regular
  Session, 2021, is redesignated as Section 225.214, Transportation
  Code, and amended to read as follows:
         Sec. 225.214 [225.190].  TROOPER CHAD M. WALKER MEMORIAL
  HIGHWAY. (a) The portion of State Highway 164 in Limestone County
  between the western municipal limits of Groesbeck [its intersection
  with Farm-to-Market Road 1953] and the bridge over the Navasota
  River [its intersection with County Road 789] is designated as the
  Trooper Chad M. Walker Memorial Highway. The designation is in
  addition to any other designation.
         (b)  Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall:
               (1)  design and construct markers indicating the
  designation as the Trooper Chad M. Walker Memorial Highway and any
  other appropriate information; and
               (2)  erect a marker at each end of the highway and at
  appropriate intermediate sites along the highway.
         SECTION 2.  To the extent of any conflict, this Act prevails
  over another Act of the 88th Legislature, Regular Session, 2023,
  relating to nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted
  codes.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
