A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the suspension of an election judge or clerk.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 32, Election Code, is
  amended by adding Section 32.0553 to read as follows:
         Sec. 32.0553.  SUSPENSION OF ELIGIBILITY FOR VIOLATION.  (a)  
  The secretary of state shall adopt rules and procedures to allow the
  official administering an election to immediately suspend and
  replace an election judge or clerk who fails to comply with the
  provisions of this code.
         (b)  The rules and procedures adopted under this section must
  include a process for a review and reinstatement of a suspended
  election judge's or clerk's eligibility if the election judge or
  clerk is not finally convicted of an offense in connection with the
  violation.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
