A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to expanding the definition of bicycle to include
  modifications necessary for adaptive riding by persons with
  disabilities.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 541.201(2), Transportation Code, is
  amended to read as follows:
               (2)  "Bicycle" means a device, excluding a moped, that
  [a person may ride and that:
                     [(A)]  is capable of being ridden solely using
  human power[;] and has either:
                     (A) [(B)  has] two tandem wheels at least one of
  which is more than 14 inches in diameter; or
                     (B)  two or more wheels, at least one of which is
  more than 14 inches in diameter, and a belt, chain, or gears.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
