| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subtitle I, Title 6, Special District Local Laws | ||
| Code, is amended by adding Chapter 9081 to read as follows: | ||
| CHAPTER 9081. WATER METER REQUIREMENTS FOR HARRIS COUNTY WATER | ||
| CONTROL AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 50 | ||
| Sec. 9081.0101. DEFINITION. In this chapter, "district" | ||
| means the Harris County Water Control and Improvement District | ||
| No. 50. | ||
| Sec. 9081.0102. WATER METERS FOR DUPLEX UNITS. At the | ||
| request of the owner of a duplex receiving water or sewer service | ||
| from the district, the district shall provide for the measurement | ||
| of the quantity of water, if any, consumed by the occupants of each | ||
| dwelling unit in the duplex through the installation of an | ||
| individual meter for each dwelling unit. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | ||
