relating to the administration of certain immunizations or | ||
vaccinations by a pharmacist. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 554.052(c-1), Occupations Code, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
(c-1) A pharmacist may administer an influenza vaccination | ||
to a patient over seven years of age without an established | ||
physician-patient relationship. A pharmacist may administer a | ||
vaccination or immunization required by statute or rule to attend a | ||
middle or junior high school to a patient who is entering or | ||
attending middle or junior high school without establishing a | ||
physician-patient relationship. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
