A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to parental leave for certain state employees.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 661.913(b), Government Code, is amended
  to read as follows:
         (b)  The employee must first use all available and applicable
  paid vacation and sick leave while taking the leave authorized by
  this section. An employee whose leave under this section exceeds
  the amount of all available and applicable paid vacation and sick
  leave is entitled, after exhausting that leave, to not more than 20
  days of additional paid leave. Any leave taken by the employee
  under this section after exhausting the additional paid leave [,
  and the remainder of the leave] is unpaid.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
