relating to an exemption from the plumbing licensing law for | ||
certain work performed on certain private property. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 1301, Occupations Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 1301.059 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 1301.059. WORK PERFORMED ON CERTAIN PRIVATE PROPERTY. | ||
(a) A person is not required to be licensed under this chapter to | ||
perform work consisting of installing, servicing, or repairing | ||
service mains or service lines that provide water, sewer, or storm | ||
drainage services on private property in an area that extends from a | ||
public right-of-way or public easement to not less than five feet | ||
from a building or structure. | ||
(b) This section does not apply to plumbing work performed | ||
on private property designated for use as a one-family or | ||
two-family dwelling. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
