A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the creation of a disaster case management system by the
  Texas Division of Emergency Management.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 418, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 418.054 to read as follows:
         Sec. 418.054.  DISASTER CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. (a)  The
  division shall, subject to the availability of funds, contract with
  a vendor to develop and maintain an electronic disaster case
  management system.  The system may be used for case management
  during and after a disaster by persons determined by the division.  
  The system may include the capability for persons affected by a
  disaster to apply for assistance from multiple sources.
         (b)  The division shall adopt rules necessary to implement
  this section.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
