SB2179 by LaMantia (Relating to liability of professional entities performing construction monitoring and inspection services for the Texas Department of Transportation.), As Introduced |
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to add a new section limiting the liability in personal injury and property damage cases for professional entities, and officers or employees of professional entities, that provide certain consulting services to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for monitoring transportation construction or maintenance work performed by a private contractor.
Based on the information provided by TxDOT and the Office of Court Administration, it is assumed the bill would not result in a significant operational or fiscal impact to the State or the state court system.
